Introduction - The latest version of VidZapper sees some extensive changes and new features.

API - The system now has a fully featured API covering authentication and users, content, playlists, players and statistics. Most features of VidZapper are now available as a web service.

Stats - A basic integrated statistics system has been added which enables the number of videos viewed between set date ranges to be viewed and downloaded to Excel to complement the Analytics and CDN stats already available.

Ad tags - The system features much improved support for third party video ad tags and video ad tracking for DART, Accipiter, 24/7 etc.. Both count and click tags can now be specified.

Flags - There are new content flags to force the whole of a video to be viewed and to make a content item play but not appear in the playlist – these have largely been introduced to support pre-roll, post-roll and in-stream advertising.

Schedule - The ability to specify playlists as near time (plays from the beginning of the video) or real time schedules. This feature only works for playlists made up solely from streaming media. It is also possible to specify if the time is GMT, or local time for the viewer. Real time drops the user into the scheduled spot in the video. Near real time starts the currently scheduled video from its start.

HTML Support - Extended entries are now possible for HTML and other formats within the metadata text field.

Cloning - It is now possible to clone – or copy – content metadata. This provides an exact copy that can then be further edited; using the API this will be capable of supporting features like muli-language channels and multi-bitrate Players.

Search Indexing - The search indexing has been much improved to enable complex searching and support for special characters. This operates both within the Admin and in the system Metadata.

Content Expiry - It is now possible to expire content after a set date. The system will not show the content item after this time. Nested Playlists - It is now possible to create entries for playlists and to nest content within the playlist header. It is also possible to nest playlists within each other, creating tree views of content.

StreamZapper - StreamZapper is a stand alone remote file management application that can be used to manage uploads and provide direct URLs to streams and downloads.
